Bells of Joy Handbell Choir November 18th

Bells of Joy Handbell Choir, under the direction of Kay Cook, blessed us with a beautiful Music Moment.

Mission Moment - Habitat for Humanity

Chairman Pat Reed, explained the ways to support Habitat for Humanity. You may contribute online at http://www.habitat.org or by sending a check.  Be sure to indicate St. Matthew on the memo line on your check and where indicated online.  You may also get an Advent Bank from Pat next Sunday on the patio and fill it with the suggested items on the Advent Calendar.  These include such things as adding $.50 for each person that lives in your home, or $1.00 if you have a garage door opener, and add up quickly. The banks may be turned in following Christmas. Help is also needed at the next build which begins in January, and sign-up sheets are available for both construction and providing food for those doing construction.  (Photos from previous build under Outreach)

Preacher for Today, Eric Everett

Eric's sermon, entitled "Celebrate!" reminded us to remember and celebrate the little things that occur daily, and to be fulfilled by those blessings.   A wonderful sermon, Eric, thank you.

November 4th Visit with Girl Scout Troop

This afternoon the Rev. Dr. Pastor Brooke Isingoma came to our Girl Scout troop 841 meeting and spoke to us about her experiences in Uganda for 5 years. She also gave us a geography lesson on where it is, right on the equator!  She said that she really felt like an outsider most of the time because she didn't speak any of the 36 different languages!!  We learned a new word "mzunga", which means different than us! She told us she had not been a Girl Scout, but really thought that our Promise and 12 Laws that we follow are great.   Our troop is learning about self esteem and acceptance of others.  All of the girls enjoyed having her join us.

Coming Up..
