Update on Reopening 2021
The St. Matthew COVID task force is pleased to announce that we are aiming for a "soft reopening" of in-person Sunday service on Memorial Day weekend--May 30, if all goes well between now and then. We will work out the kinks and questions on May 30, and then plan to invite you all back into the sanctuary in June. In order to ensure that we comply with guidelines from the CDC and our Conference, last names beginning with A-M will be invited to attend in person on the first and third Sundays of June, and N-Z on the second and fourth Sundays. No need to RSVP--just come, if you want, according to your last name. We will continue to livestream every Sunday as well, so you are welcome to continue to worship with us in that way. All protocols will remain in place, including wearing masks and social distancing, even for those who have been vaccinated. If you know of someone who is not digitally connected with St. Matthew to receive this announcement, please give them a call.
The Desert Southwest Conference has approved our request for offering some in-person ministry.
Here are the guidelines of what we are able to do at this time.
Small Group Meetings
- Ten or fewer
- Six feet or more distance expected
- Masks preferred for outdoors, required indoors
- Notify the church office about when and where you plan to meet
Church Office is open by appointment only.
