St. Matthew UMC Offers a caring supportive community through Helping Hands and Stephen Ministry.
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. They are trained to listen, care, encourage, pray with and support those who face difficult times, emotionally or spiritually, including loss, grief, anxiety or illness. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. To learn how you can receive a Stephen Minister's confidential care, email Pastor Joan at email@example.com, or call the church office (480) 838-7309 or Stephen Ministry Leader Kimberly Gibbons at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information on this ministry see the website at Stephen Ministries.
