Special Events

This Music Season at St. Matthew by Ben Shafer

We are thrilled and excited to announce St. Matthew’s inaugural Concert Series: “The Gifts Of Music”. A natural complement to the church's excellent music program, the series is beginning in part with a desire to bring outstanding quality performances in the arts to the community. All concerts are FREE and open to the public and are presented in the Sanctuary. The concerts are supported by freewill offerings and Series Sponsors. The programming will be diverse: classical, popular show tunes, instrumental and vocal performances, drama, and perhaps some jazz. We invite everyone to attend, bring a friend and join us for a wonderful season of concerts. “Gifts” should have something for everyone! So please mark your calendars, save the dates and help fill the sanctuary for a wonderful year of four dynamic concerts by the following talented artists.

May 6 - 3pm - Youth Music Presentation A concert featuring the talented youth of our church and community combine to present musical offerings, including performances by the Hands of Praise Youth Sign Language Choir under the direction of our own Rosemary Glithero. Also joining the concert is our own Children's Choir under the direction of Robin Watson.

May 20 - 3pm - Elements of Music - Music Appreciation “Gala” All of the various music ministries at St. Matthew will combine to end our inaugural season of concerts as they present music from diverse elements celebrating Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and the Fifth Element “Spirit”. This celebration occurs on Pentecost Sunday and you will be revitalized and lifted up as a result of the moving performances by the St. Matthew Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, Hands of Joy Sign Language Choir, Hands of Praise Sign Language Choir, Children's Choir and More!
